How it works?

1) Enter your password

For signing in you Google account, it will, as usual, ask your username and password.

2) Enter a code sent to your phone

Then, Google will ask you to enter the code it has sent you via text message, voice call or Google mobile App.

Whenever, any one would attempt to login your account from some new computer or different location, Google will always ask to enter the code sent via text message. However, during sign in you can ask for not asking your code again on that particular computer.

What all practices can put your password in risk?

Any of the below mentioned activity, could put your password on stake:

• Using similar password for all other sites
• Clicking on the links in spam emails
• Downloading software from internet

• Never use similar password for Gmail and other sites.
• Perform regular browser and OS updates.
• Check for viruses and malware, immediately remove any suspicious application or program if detected.
• Regularly update your account recovery options
• Never enter your password after following any link in an email from any random website.
• Never send your password via email; Google never asks your password or other sensitive information over emails.
• Avoid accessing any of the spam mails link
• Use secure connections when signing in.
